Offerings to the river.
This turtle shell was left in a cooling fire after being eaten by local Indigenous People. One life offered up to another in an ancient cycle. I sent it's shell back into the river to become the grains of sand along the banks. I honoured him with fresh water mussel shells and foliage from paperbark trees that hold the banks together. An honouring of place and time now washed away with the river and the rain.
