Salt and Ash
I grew up by the wild sea.
So much of how we lived our lives was guided by it’s mood, it’s tide and how it felt on any given day.
My father was a sailor, a man that could read the waves and live within their flow, always salty a giant in the water to me he'll always be Hemingways "Old man and the sea" to me.
The smell of fish on a fire will forever transport me to the coconut trees and salty warm days of my child hood. This simple image for me represents that big life and how all the 'salt water people' since the dawn of time have lived their big lives cooking and living in the sand, staring out to that marvellous horizon always dictated by the wild of the sea.
